FY2026 Financial Tracking Report: Monitoring the Financial Performance of Indian Startups

In the 2026 fiscal year, India’s startup ecosystem continued to mature, with 22 emerging tech companies going public—up from 13 in the 2025 fiscal year. Meanwhile, an increasing number of startups have achieved profitability or neared the break-even point, following years of cost-rationalization efforts tailored to a new, more challenging funding environment.

Although many startups faced headwinds in the fourth quarter due to geopolitical uncertainties, the overall revenue and profit outlook for Indian startups in the 2026 fiscal year shows improvement.

Among the 102 startups tracked, 65 (approximately 63.7%) achieved profitability in the 2026 fiscal year. However, the profit landscape remains uneven: these 65 startups generated a combined net profit of ₹145.118 billion, while the remaining 37 incurred a cumulative loss of ₹309.508 billion—underscoring that achieving sustainable profitability remains a formidable challenge for some.

Nevertheless, the scale of India’s startup ecosystem continues to expand. In the 2026 fiscal year, these 102 companies generated a combined operating revenue of ₹4.75 trillion—a significant 34.62% increase from the ₹3.53 trillion recorded in the 2025 fiscal year.

To help you track the financial health of emerging tech companies, Inc42 has launched the “FY2026 Financial Tracker,” which consolidates key financial metrics in one place.
